The Product Development Process

there are 7 main process when we are developing a product.

These;

1. Conceive
2. Plan
3. Develop
4. Iterate
5. Launch
6. Steady state
7. Maintain or kill

Conceive

• The stage where we collect user problems and do brainstorm

Plan

• The stage where we do market research on the ideas we come up with
• The roadmap is determined
• Customer interviews

Develop

• Timeline and features are determined
• User stories, specs, estimations on very specific details
• Requirements are determined

Iterate

• We finish the MVP or the early prototype
• We test the assumptions we made
• We use tools for testing our product’s different versions

Launch

• We communicate and work with Sales team, PR, Legal, Marketing team for the launch product
• We launch the product to the market and see what reactions that we get

Steady state

• We collcet metrics and optimizing them
• Sales continue

Maintain or kill

• We analyze the data: how competitive the product is, how much is the revenue?
• We decide to maintan or kill the product
• If we decide to kill the product, the process called “sun-setting” starts, the phase of gradually ending the product’s life.
